Nelson Hotels are delighted to be supporting The Great Pancake Party and turning Pancake Day into a delicious week-long event to help raise funds for the Cardiomyopathy Association.

Next month The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel, The Pheasant Inn, The Bear’s Paw and The Fishpool Inn will be donating 10% of all pancake sales between 3-7 March to this worthwhile but lesser known charity.

The Pancake Party is the inaugural national fundraising event and is headed by Cardiomyopathy sufferer Lynn Hedgecoe.

Following her diagnosis, Lynn discovered very little was understood of this debilitating heart muscle disease. The support and encouragement she received made her realise that raising awareness and much needed funds was vital to protecting the wellbeing of fellow sufferers.

Lynn comments, “We are hoping to raise £25,000 which will help sufferers gain access to vital, life-changing support as well as pay for training videos for doctors and nurses to educate them on the condition. This will mean quicker diagnosis and better care for everyone affected.”  She added “I’m so pleased companies like Nelson Hotels are getting involved.”

All the restaurants within the Northwest-based hotel group are currently running polls on Facebook to determine their customers’ favourite sweet and savoury pancake fillings. Sales and Marketing Director Lucy Nelson commented “We always enjoy involving our Facebook and Twitter followers and will be featuring the three most popular choices at each property from 3-7 March.”

Lucy continued, “In fact we might be encouraging a spot of healthy competition between the teams of our hotel and three inns; as the more pancakes eaten, the more money is raised for The Pancake Party and the Cardiomyopathy Association.”
